COMMUNITY OUTREACHEx-Felon Voting and Returning Citizens Initiative

In 2018, nearly 65 percent of Florida voters approved Amendment 4 to the Florida Constitution, which automatically restored voting rights to as many as 1.4 million Floridians. Amendment 4 was designed to restore voting rights for convicted felons, except those convicted of murder or a felony sexual offense, upon the completion of all terms of sentence, including prison, parole, and probation.

On June 28, 2019, § 98.0751 Florida Statue was enacted and prohibited returning citizens from voting unless they pay off all legal financial obligations imposed by a court pursuant to a felony conviction even if they cannot afford to pay. At present, there is ongoing litigation surrounding this provision of Florida Statute and the law surrounding this area is ever evolving.

We have committed along with several community partners to help Ex-Felons Return as Citizens to Voter!
